Located in Assling in East Tyrol's Puster Valley, the Walter Stub'n is surrounded by the Lienzer Dolomiten Mountains and features a sauna, steam bath and fitness room that can be used free of charge. Lake Tristach, the Sillian Ski Area, the town of Lienz, and the Lavant Golf Course are within 20 km. Apartments at the Walter Stub'n have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, free WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony or terrace, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a sofa bed. A breakfast buffet is served each morning. The property has a garden, terrace, and a playground with slides, swings, and table tennis facilities. A sun bed can be used against a surcharge. Thal’s leisure center with outdoor pools, tennis courts and a playground, and Assling’s tobboggan run are 2 km away. The Pustertalerhöhenweg hiking route passes by the property, and the Wildpark (small zoo) is a 3-minute walk away. Guests staying 3 nights or more during summer receive free entrance passes to the Wildpark and Thal’s leisure center. In winter, guests receive a free ski pass for the Compedal Ski Lift (1 km away) if they stay 3 nights or more.
