These traditional timber-built cottages feature open fireplaces, private saunas and barbeque facilities in the popular Ruka-Kuusamo skiing area. Holiday Club Ruka Cottages include fully-equipped kitchens. Each cottage at Holiday Club Ruka comes with modern interiors, a drying cabinet and barbeque facilities. Firewood is provided for the open log fire, and guests can relax in the living area with the TV and DVD player. The surrounding woods are popular for berry picking and hiking in the warmer months, especially the Karhunkierros “Bear Run” route. Just 20 minutes’ drive from the cottages in Kuusamo guests can enjoy horse riding, white water rafting and canoeing. In the winter months Kuusamo has an extensive network of cross-country ski tracks, while just over 10 minutes’ drive away is the ski resort of Ruka, with 28 slopes, husky safaris and reindeer farms. Ruka Golf Club is a 10-minute drive away and the cottages are 20 km from Kuusamo Airport.
