Located right by the Akan National Park, Moritsubetsu features public hot-spring baths and a sauna. Guests can look out into the surrounding woods and take walks by the spacious garden. JR Kitami Train Station is a 60-minute drive away. Free WiFi is available at the lobby. The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A flat-screen TV, safety deposit box and a fridge are included in each. Guests can make green tea using the electric kettle and wear the provided Japanese Yukata robes. Local products can be purchased at the souvenir shop, while a launderette is on site. Moritsubetsu Hotel is a 20-minute drive from Tsubetsu Pass Observatory and a 50-minute drive from Bihoro Pass. Memanbetsu Airport is a 60-minute drive away. It is a 5-hour drive to Sapporo. Lake Kussharo and Lake Mashu are a 30-minute and 80-minute drive away, respectively. Lake Akan is an 80-minute drive away. Japanese set menus are served for breakfast and dinner at the restaurant.

Abashiri (around a 90-minute drive from the property) city offers a tour course every year from late January to early March, where guests can board the ice breaker Aurora and experience a ride across drift ice. The property does not carry out reservations for the tour, however.
