Welcome to Palm Beach Hotel, This gem of a hotel could not be called anything else. Perfectly surrounded by lush palm trees, you could not wish for a more idealic setting for your Gambian holiday.
Less than thirty minutes transfer time from The Gambian Yundum International Airport you will approach the hotel along a driveway that divides an almost unique ornithological paradise where hundreds of species of birds live or return to every year.
Check-in is made in our large cool reception and lounge area and swiftly you are shown to your room where the accommodation is arranged over a four-sided two-tier unit. The four ground rooms each have a discreet private balcony and the four upstairs rooms each boast their own private staircase ascending through lush shrubs and tropical flowers to individual bathrooms (shower) and are fitted with self controlled air-conditioning and television sets with remote.
You can take breakfast in the main dining room or the adjacent sun terrace and listen to the morning bird chorus and watch the safaris leave. Then pick your sun lounger or table near the main pool or by the safe children’s’ section and relax in the beautiful palm tree surroundings. Cold drinks and snacks can be served to you by the poolside bar staff or to escape the heat of the day you can pull up a bar stool or just lounge in the shade of the pool bar.
Just one step away is the Gambia’s famous long sandy Kotu beach with its lush green palm trees surrounding our wonderful Eldorado Beach Bar. It is your choice again whether you choose a sun lounger or a towel in the raised beach bar where you can gaze at continuous Atlantic waves as they reach the Gambian smiling coast. It is up to you to either watch the local fishermen pull in their catch, the beachcombers, and the game of volleyball or football or even have a go yourself.
As the sun goes down, sun worshippers leave the beach for their hotel rooms just as others dressed for dinner, arrive for that magical time when the day gives way to the evening. Watch the sun setting and listen to the evening bird chorus and the waves while sipping your traditional sundowner cocktail. Visit the Piano Bar in the main hotel where you can play pool or watch the international television or just sit and listen to the music play.
Dinner is served poolside with a range of choices each week from International buffet, Barbeque, Seafood buffet or Italian buffet. You can watch the evening entertainment on the poolside stage which can range from live Roots music band, Gambian musicians and dancers, local fula acrobats or an African ballet group.
For the late nighters why not continue in our air conditioned disco and bar until your very last dance. Gamblers can chance their luck in one of the local casinos and maybe you will meet the Dawn Chorus bird watching safari leaving the hotel as you return.
Other facilities we offer are a small mini-market with local crafts, toiletries, sun cream, toys, post-cards, gifts and clothes. The Elephant Terrace is a beautiful quiet area surrounded by palms and flowers next to the main hotel reception where you can take tea, coffee or a snack, read a book or just relax. We also offer an A la Carte dining in the main hotel restaurant as well as an authentic Chinese restaurant for that special evening meal.
The Internet Café offers up to date computers that can be booked for your convenience so you can surf or keep in touch with friends by e-mail or why not try the massage saloon.
There are many opportunities for taking Safaris in The Gambia; the river, the mangroves, the culture, the magnificent bird life, the empty beaches, the capital Banjul or the local towns, deep sea fishing or just fishing from the beach, horse riding, quad biking or even see The Gambia from the air in a piloted micro-light. These can all be booked at the main reception where we will be happy to arrange your itinerary.
There are secure safety lockers in reception, with your own key, for valuables and we can offer currency exchange at all hours. Taxis are available in the main drive with a selection of restaurants, bars, craft markets, super markets within a short drive, or why not hire a bicycle.
There is a fully equipped conference room suite available for business meetings, parties and weedings and we are readily available to organize all your requirements.
