Hotel Gigur is situated in one of Iceland's most popular and beautiful tourist attractions, located at Skututstodum on the southern shore of Lake Myvatn, with a fantastic view of the lake. Covering 37 km2 in area, the lake is Iceland's fourth largest and has a shoreline deeply incised by numerous small creeks and speckled with about 50 islands and small islets; many of these natural wonders are within walking distance from the hotel.
